Workforce Development in Stem Cell Research
A perfect storm is brewing for undergraduate stem cell education. Demand for novel, path breaking curricula is high from students, teachers, and industry. There is an unmet need for formal, integrative, and laboratory-based teaching materials. Contrasted to many areas in biology, research funding in this sector of the life sciences is robust and growing.
This grant, funded by the National Science Foundation, brings together what are arguably the best institutions, consultants, and experts the field has to offer. The materials and classes developed by the Workforce Training in STEM Cell Research team will produce a new wave of competent, curious, and motivated professionals for biology’s most promising frontier.
